Professor Khandker Nurul Habib, head of the Travel Demand Modelling Group (TDMG)
Dr. Khandker Nurul Habib is a renowned Professor of Transportation Engineering, highly regarded in his field of study. He is recognized for his numerous scholarly accomplishments and his dedication to his profession. He is the recipient of IATBR's Eric Pass Award, TRB's Pyke Johnson Award, Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE)'s Sanford Fleming Award for his contributions to transportation research. He served as the Chair of TRB's Standing Committee on Traveler Behavior and Values (2021-2025). Currently, he is a member of the TRB Standing Committee, AEP12: Travel Behaviour and Choices (2025-2028). He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario and a Fellow of CSCE.
Kaili Wang, PhD
Dr. Kaili Wang is currently an NSERC Postdoc Fellow at MIT. He obtained his BASc (with honours), MASc and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto, all under Prof. Habib's supervision. Kaili Wang's research focuses on exploring the intricacies of travel behaviour modelling, travel survey methodology, and the impact of emerging technologies on travel demand.
Melvyn Li, PhD Candidate
Melvyn Li is currently a PhD candidate at the TDMG under Prof.Habib's supervision. He obtained his BASc from the University of Waterloo and MASc from the University of Toronto. Melvyn Li's research focuses on travel survey methods and data fusion using advanced choice models.
